Questions
What is Heysham Online.
Heysham Online is a community based web site administered by Heysham Neighbourhood Council and currently sponsored by P W Building Contractors Ltd.
What does it do.
Heysham Online will bring Heysham to a much larger audience, giving online information about everything that's happening in Heysham. Think of it as a combined online newspaper and tourist brochure with a local directory thrown in.
How does it do it.
By making information about local business, leisure activities, community events, tourist attractions and much else besides available on the Internet.
Can I use it.
Yes of course, providing you have or can access an Internet connection and have the appropriate software.
How
Get in touch with me, Dave Wilcock, if you have appropriate content you feel could be included. Remember the site will evolve; it's up to us all to find ways to exploit it's capabilities.
Will it cost me.
No. Unless you feel like contributing to the site's upkeep.
How often is it updated.
Initially we're aiming for once a week; that'll still be a lot of hard work!
Is anything forbidden.
Yes. Although Heysham Online is an online facility, laws of the land still apply. Any commercial content must be strictly legit, no libel, no defamation of character. All submitted content will be subject to approval by the Webmaster.
Is there a discussion forum.
No, not yet but one is planned for the future. This forum will be moderated by the Webmaster and inappropriate content will be excluded.
Can I submit photos.
Yes please! It's hoped to have a 'rolling' gallery of local pics old and new.
What can I do to help.
Use it as much as possible. Find new ways it can be useful, that way it will grow quickly. If you know( or have) a web site that might benefit from reciprocal links...tell us.
